Create a Mood Board

The first thing you need to do is try to create a mood board. Before you meet with your florist, you need to try to get an idea of what it is you could be drawn to. You don’t have to put down just flowers for your mood board, either; in fact, you could just put down flowers that you love. It may be that you use a fabric swatch or that you use a colour that really represents you and what you are looking for with your vision. Either way, if you can work with your florist to try and get an idea of what you are looking for, then this will help you a lot.

Don’t Fixate

Another thing you need to do is make sure that you do not become fixated on flowers. If you choose the right florist, then you should not be concerned too much about your arrangement. It’s all too easy to see a flower that you love and then decide that you would like it, but sometimes it’s not as easy as this. Your florist will probably guide you through what you want and what arrangements you may like, so make sure that you use their experience to your advantage. You can also look into things like floral preservation, as again, this is a good way for you to not only make sure that you’re making the most out of your wedding, but also treasure and keep your bouquet for years to come.

Use the Seasons to your Advantage

Another great thing to do would be for you to try to use the seasons to your advantage. Working with the season and being inspired by it is a good way for you to reflect on your budget, but at the same time, it also allows you to make sustainable choices moving forward. In spring, for example, you will notice that there are more peonies and tulips, but in summer, you may see more garden roses as well as tulips. If you can consider things like this, then your arrangements will look way more natural, and you may also find that you’re able to get a way better result overall. You may also find that you end up with a more natural choice, which is great.

Investing in a standout piece is also a good thing to do. If you are mindful of your budget, then go with a few standout pieces, whether it is an urn or a floral arch, rather than having lots of smaller arrangements, as this will help you in more ways than one, and it will also make your wedding day much more dramatic and spectacular.
