Things just cant get any better for us! On February 26 in Las Vegas, Table 6 Productions walked away with the “Event Planner of the Year - East Coast” trophy and title at the Event Solutions ICA & CATIE National Awards Ceremony. This was a night to remember and we can not thank our clients, fans, and friends enough for all the support you have given us while trying to attain this milestone award! We honored and thanked all of brides during the acceptance speech quoting “We’d especially like to thank our brides who inspired us and challenged us because in the end they are the ones who allowed us to put on such creative, fabulous events!” So cheers to all of you brides, we wouldnt have made it thus far if it wasnt for you!

When we talk about new trends, we try to share ideas with you that are our own, but their are also great ideas we have heard about from others, that we must share! Sometimes, an old idea will spawn a new idea for us, or we will put our own Table 6 Productions twist on something. So, a few ideas we would to share….
Signature Cocktails are still a hit! But Pomegranate Martinis are out…Try the Wedding Cake Martini. To die for!
New Color Combinations - we love all the new hot color combos and have even put a few of our own together…Here are just a few!
Navy Blue/Yellow/White, Eggplant/Chocolate Brown/Copper, Sapphire Blue/Amethyst Purple/Ruby Red, Black/White Vintage Damask and Aqua/Red/Yellow, Orange/Blue/White, Pewter/Violet/Turquoise
Pre-Cocktail Ceremoniesbefore the ceremony - invite guests to the wedding 30 minutes before it actually starts. Have servers greet them with Champagne Cocktails, a strolling violinist, and a little nibble! This will really set the tone for a great evening!
We are constantly trying to come up with creative ideas for our brides guest books and place card displays. A few ideas we are currently doing with our brides for guest books are:
A Jazz Record that will be signed by guests for a couple who loves music and the Groom is a trained trombonist
A Water Fountain that will greet guests at the entrance of the reception, actually representing the Trevi Fountain in Italy, where the bride and groom got engaged. Instead os signing something, guests will be asked to make a wish for the couple with an Italian coin and asked to throw it into the “Trevi Fountain” (*later - the couple will display the coins on their mantle)
A Vintage Photo Booth will be used to take strips of photos of the guests, then they will be placed inside a black album and guests will sign by their photos.
Postcards will be printed with the couples mailing address and stamped. Then the guests will fill out the postcard and place it inside a metal mailbox at the reception. The postcards will then be mailed out and waiting in the couple’s mailbox for them to read when they return from their honeymoon.
A few ideas we have tried for place card displays are:
Potpourri Sachets with Suction Cups that will hang from inside a window with the guests name and table on it
Monogrammed Shot Glasses with a Lemon Slice Place Card on the rim that will be used later for a Lemoncello toast to the Bride & Groom, in place of Champagne
A Deck of Pink Playing Cards inside a Pink Satin Pillow Bag with a Rhinestone “B” on the front and a wrap with the Name and Table #
A “Wall” made of fabric with the place cards tucked inside or pinned to the “wall”
An Old Wheel Barrel filled with Mosses and Dried Grasses with Swirly Brown Picks holding each place card
An old restored “shabby chic” wooden door leaning against the wall with ribbons hanging from it showing the place cards displayed
If the holiday season didn’t breed enough merriment, our 1st Annual Christmas party sure did! We celebrated the close of another great year with the amazing vendors who helped us create fabulous events. As if it could have been any other way… we celebrated in style! Concept Bait (we love these guys!) decorated our storefront with, what else?… Bling of course! And, what goes well with bling? MORE bling!! Grymes Cannon with Grymes Cannon Floral Designs blew us away with his gorgeous and unique floral and decor; a miz of white and silver using the most beautiful roses we have ever seen along with peonies, amaryllis, and orchids to name a few and all blinged out for the occasion. Delectable appetizers were served by the one and only Catering by Design. A modern “lounge” was created on the sidewalk in front of the store. At the lighted acrylic bar, guests enjoyed signature cocktails through an ice luge created by IM Events. Café and cocktail tables covered with white spandex and wrapped in crystals were complimented by uplighting in shades of blue. We danced the night away to our favorite tunes played by our marvelous DJ, Josh Walther of Inspire Entertainment. Our night was captured by the amazing photography of Gina Leigh! A huge thank you to all the people who helped us create this one of a kind party! We look forward to 2009!Check out the slide show from the party: http://www.ginaleighphotography.com/slideshow/HolidayPartySlideshow/
As if this year couldn’t get any better, we were nominated for an Event Solutions Spotlight Award in the Event Planner of the Year (East Coast) category. After reviewing thousands of Spotlight Award Profiles, a group of event professionals selected seven finalists. Guess who made the cut?? WE DID! Not only will we be featured as a finalist in the November edition of Event Solutions magazine, but we will also be announced at the 2009 Spotlight Awards Event in Las Vegas. Our fingers are crossed that we will be announced as the winner!! The choice is now turned over to online voting. We will need everyone’s support because we have some brilliant competition, but we are confident Table 6 Productions stands out… aren’t you? Voting will open November 15, 2008 and run through January 26, 2009. So, for all of our faithful readers and friends… stay tuned for directions on casting your vote.
What do you do when you have 450 guests and can’t decide on a menu? You offer them all of course! We created four “mini meal” food stations. We combined the newlywed’s favorite foods in small tents connected to the corners of the main 8,000 sf tent. Instead of the typical station set up where like foods are grouped together, each station offered a “tapas style” menu on salad size plates. Station #1 offered short ribs accompanied by garlic mashed potatoes and green beans ala dente, while station #2 served pecan crusted salmon over a spring mix. Station #3 featured savory lamb chops with asparagus and potato fennel. Lastly, Station #4 had guests feasting on blackened chicken with a mango salsa served over yellow rice, Caesar salad, and Cuban bread. As guests danced the night away, late night snacks of mini peppermint ice cream cones and strips of grilled cheese sandwiches were butler passed throughout the tent. As one of our largest events to date, we successfully conquered the common complaints of food stations… long lines, irritated guests and slow service.
Well its the day we have all been waiting for…the date one our Florida west coast weddings will air on the WE’s Platinum Wedding. The air date is February 22, 2009 and will we definatly throw a shindig, table 6 style, to celebrate this larger-than-life debut! Mark your calenders my friends and stay tunned…
Well we finally had our grand opening for our Florida, Tampa Bay area Wedding Planning office located on central avenue in the heart of St. Petersburg Florida. We are very fortunate enough to share the space with www.Paper-presence.com who customized fabulous wedding invitations and ensembles. Its been a work in progress, needless to say, but the store front is open and ready for clients. We decided to do a very feminine, cottage-style, shabby-sheek theme with lots of ivorys a nd soft colors.
Our grand opening was last month and we had a blast! Cafe Dolce catered the open house style soiree while Paul Skye Music played live acustic guitar all night and the mayor of st. petersburg helped us cut the famous red ribbon. Phillip Lloyd from www.PhillipLloydPhotography.com captured our event and a few great shots of the store, before the party got started. Botanica did the flowers for our window display and table scape. Many of our good friends came by to congratulate us, like www.vhvideo.com, www.conceptbait.com, www.ginaleighphotography.com, and many more! We want to thank everyone for thier support in this exciting time and hope you will come again. Cheers!
If our schedules aren’t full enough we have added another type of party to plan…baby showers! And no, we aren’t talking silly games, sitting around in circles, and drinking tea and eating crumpets…we are talking baby showers, Table 6 STYLE!!!!! We, along with our good friend Aymee Sutterby from Brides.com and Brides of Florida, decided to co-host a baby shower for a dear friend and fabulous photographer, Phillip Lloyd with www.philliplloydphotography.com. When Tamika and Phillip found out they were having a boy, they jumped for joy and we decided to throw a cocktail style party and shower the couple with gifts. Now you probably know us by now and know that this was not any ordinary shower…it was boasting with a cool blue palette that included royal blue, pacific blue, and khaki. We chose the crown with the baby’s monogram as the motif for the shower as we personalized the invitations, cocktail napkins, even the cake was in the shape of a crown. We cocktailed the night away, as we offered “bubbling blue” champagne libations and passed comfort foods such as mini cheese burgers, Asian fried rice in mini Chinese take-out boxes, sweet potato French fries, mini chicken fingers, and to top it all off we offered the invited guests a pickles and ice cream bar! All of our good friends in the industry attended such as our pals at Limelight Photography, Voila Cinematic, Paper Presence, The dressing Room and many more as we toasted to the new addition to Phillip and Tamika’s family. Many thanks to; Zoe from Botanica florist (www.botanicaflorist.com)for providing the fabulous florals, Josh Walther from inspiredj.com for entertaining us, and Notfromabox.com for the fabulous invitations and other printed products. WE LOVE OUR VENDORS!!!
