Abbey’s and Wes have a special place in their heart for Steamboat Springs, Colorado! Not only do they love to ski, hike, bike, and rock climb there, but the Bride’s parents have a home where they have made many beautiful memories together as a family. When Abbey and Wes decided to get married in Steamboat Springs, they toured the beautiful Marabou Ranch and knew this is where they wanted to have their wedding. Set back near the Sleeping Giant mountain is a beautiful lodge with picturesque views and a gushing river. The sounds alone make you feel happy and peaceful.
The set up started 5 days before the actual wedding, as everything had to be brought in and built from the ground up. From tents, and flooring, to bathrooms and electricity, the wedding was completely custom and designed specifically for Wes and Abbey’s vision. The groom spent days making beautiful wood walls with climbing ropes where personalized carabiners hung from each special knot as the guests place card. A custom boardwalk made from Beetle Kill Pine lined the ceremony aisle as well as gorgeous fabric trees and lush florals. There were peonies for days…the bride’s favorite flower! Farm tables, fabric draped tents, chandeliers, and gorgeous linens all made for a beautiful dinner and dancing setting along the river. There was no shortage of food, from passed hors d’oeuvres, to a sit down dinner, to cake, donuts, and goetta (one of the bride’s favorite snacks from her family’s native Ohio), the guests enjoyed all of the amazing treats!
The Wash Park Band provided the entertainment, which was perfect for the Bride & Groom, because they actually live in Wash Park (neighborhood in Denver). The band packed the dance floor the entire night. The beautifully designed custom cake wowed the guests with its real life wood grain texture and gold leaf painted mountains (and luckily, it made the 4 hour drive in one piece). The entire invitation suite represented the couple’s love of the mountains (hiking and climbing) from the die cut 14’er mountain table names to the carabiner escort cards. A drone was flown in the area to get the stunning aerial views by the videographer, and last but not least Andy Barnhart Photography took the jaw dropping images.
