Shira and Ben were actually set up by the bride’s uncle. Not your typical dating story but when they had their first date, they knew that the uncle was a pretty good matchmaker. They quickly fell in love, and shared so many common interests. One being their love for food! So when they got engaged and started planning their wedding, the food was actually going to depict the venue for them. Wherever they felt they could offer the best dining experience for their guests was certainly going to be where they had their wedding. After many, many months of venue tours and tastings, they landed on the beautiful and scenic Pinnacle Club. Knowing how important the food was, the Grand Hyatt worked diligently to create a menu that would wow the couple and their guests. In addition, Shira and Ben knew they had to incorporate some of their local favorites, such as Sweet Action Ice Cream and Maria’s Empanadas.
In addition to the food, the ambiance was of second importance to them. With the groom being from Vegas and his entire family from Israel, he felt like he had really seen it all in the event world, and really wanted to hone in on a unique theme that was personal to the two of them. After a few meetings, we all recognized the bride’s love for sunsets and starry nights. It is here that the wedding palette evolved.
The Save the Date featured a very clever 3D pop-up of the Denver skyline with a sun setting over the city. The wedding ceremony itself featured an acrylic huppah decked out in an angelic fashion in shades of whites and ivories with clear chiavari chairs for guest seating. The aisle featured an array of colors that mimicked a sunset going through various shades of orange, yellow and red. The bridesmaid’s dresses were thoughtfully chosen to represent a beautiful sunset in shades of pink, purple, red and yellow.
As the guests entered the ballroom, rich linens featuring modern style centerpieces arranged in a way that again mimicked a beautiful sunset welcomed them. As the room got darker and the sun finally set, the lighting changed to shades of rich purples and pinks. Dramatic blue lighting shot through the gorgeous glass bubble chandeliers in the ceiling and stars appeared in the sky.
After dinner, guests danced the night away to a fabulous Israeli husband and wife duo that was brought in from LA. They performed various songs in Hebrew and of course, led an amazing 30-minute Hora dance. Afterwards the fabulously talented DJRipM alongside the amazing electric violinist, Maestro Hughes, performed many songs together, keeping the dance floor packed all night.
The guests were well fed throughout the night and were presented an amazing dessert display, as well as Sweet Action Ice Cream and Maria’s Empanadas. And let us not forget the amazing starry night inspired wedding cake gorgeously displayed against the night backdrop offered by the floor to ceiling windows in the Pinnacle Club.
It was a joy to work with a couple that appreciated all of the details that go into creating a truly magical experience for their guests. Congratulations to Shira and Ben!
