Liz and Darryl were introduced by her cousin ten (yes, TEN) years ago. They had the classic long-distance relationship thanks to college. Upon graduation, they really took it to a whole new level of long-distance when Liz moved to Boston for dental school. Once Liz moved back to Tampa, Darryl made it official when he proposed in the grotto of a Catholic church.
Liz did not want a ballroom wedding. She chose the Cuban Club for its character and history. However, when it came to décor, their style was clean and modern. Liz knew from the beginning she wanted purple, but we mixed in grey and silver to keep it from being too girly (you’re welcome Darryl!). To keep the large room interesting, we incorporated both round and square tables. Three different centerpieces of phalaenopsis orchids, roses and hydrangea decorated the room. Adding to the ambiance was purple uplighting and special lighting designs adorning the ceiling.
The couple decided signature sweets were more their style than signature drinks. Later in the evening the couple brought in a popsicle cart with custom flavors for their guests!
