Molly and Jay knew they wanted a destination wedding where they could bring all of their guests to one location and spend an amazing weekend with them. While Molly and Jay reside in Chicago, they had folks from all around the globe fly in to attend their wedding weekend at the fabulous Brush Creek Ranch in Saratoga, Wyoming, one of our very favorite venues! Molly and Jay enjoyed a gorgeous fall weekend with all of their guests. Molly’s family has lived on a ranch for quite some time, so she knew that Brush Creek Ranch was the perfect place to celebrate her special day. Guests arrived Thursday and Friday, and were taken to their gorgeous decorated cabins on a four-wheeler. They were greeted with darling Welcome Bags that held first aid kids, snacks, water and gorgeous wool blankets from Scotland. Brush Creek Ranch is an all-inclusive 5 star property so all activities, lodging, meals, drinks, snacks, etc are included. Guests could participate in their choice of activities provided by the ranch including horseback riding, fly-fishing, a ropes course, target shooting, biking, hiking, and much more.
The rehearsal dinner, a “Creek-side Barbeque,” featured picnic tables with checkered table linens, raspberry craft cocktails, and a heart and hand warming fire pit. A true farm-to-table dinner buffet was served and a Bluegrass band played as guests served themselves from Black kettle pots. Molly touched everyone’s hearts and made some shed tears (including herself) as she gave her welcoming speech to all her guests. As the sun set, S’mores were brought out, and the young and young-at-heart enjoyed roasting marshmallows by the fire. The party was then moved to the saloon, with a large bonfire right outside where the s’ mores continued. The saloon was a huge hit, with swinging doors, old-fashioned cowboy décor, arcade hunting games, a pool table, air hockey, and a karaoke machine.
On the day of the wedding, Molly was having so much fun that we could barely pull her away from her guests and activities to start her hair and make-up! Her vivacious and adventurous spirit was contagious – she just wanted to enjoy her guests and wasn’t worried about the minutia! The ceremony took place in a garden sanctuary with stone amphitheater style seating, adorned with fur blankets and pillows for warmth, trees and flowers surrounding the area, and an aspen floral arch setting the stage for the outdoor ceremony.
Cocktail hour took place on the lower patio of the main dining building, with passed hors d’oeuvres and signature cocktails. The reception area was in the main lodge, which wowed guests with its amazing Western views. The star feature of the room was the multiple elk-antler chandeliers hanging from the vaulted wood ceiling. The rustic wood farm tables were adorned with garlands running through the center of each table, with white and ivory florals adding dimension in metallic vases or as part of the garland. Mercury Glass candles accented the floral centerpieces and the beautiful table settings. As guests entered the room, they grabbed their escort card with monogrammed wax seal, which lead them to their table while live music played in the background.
After dinner, guests trickled into the authentic wood barn where dancing began. Animal skin rugs and boho western lounge vignettes provided seating for guests needing a rest, and market lights lit the dance floor. Their live band, Syndicate, got everyone dancing, and kept them begging for more music. When Molly and Jay went to cut their cake, they smashed it into their son’s face instead of each other’s! It was adorable and made everyone laugh! The guests left the reception and carried on into the wee hours of the night in Jay and Molly’s cabin. On Sunday, at breakfast, the guests RAVED about their experience and no one wanted to leave. A few people even shed a tear. Something that happens A LOT when you leave a magical place like Brush Creek Ranch.
