Liz and Grant planned their Colorado wedding with us all the way from Oklahoma where Grant was finishing up Dermatology school. Their parents split their time between Taos, Denver, and Cabo. So interestingly enough, the aesthetics of the wedding incorporated elements of all of these places near and dear to the family, and we did a lot of the planning with the bride’s mom. Their parents are members of Castle Pines Golf Club so there was no doubt that this is where they wanted to have the wedding. After planning Jordan Elway’s wedding (John’s youngest daughter) at this club a few years ago, we knew this was not going to be a small feat. The wedding must be built from the ground up! And we always get excited when we can start with a blank canvas.
Liz loved the idea of mixing metals. So gold, copper, and rose gold, all made a debut within the design. Our design concept started with the Paper. We custom designed a fabulous letterpress and rose gold foil invitation and guests were blown away when it arrived. All of the additional paper products followed our elegant, modern and clean design. Blush and champagne’s were incorporated into the floral, decor and lighting. (a big trend in 2016 weddings) We sourced fabulous white and copper chandelier’s from IKEA that adorned the ceiling of the fabric draped tent. Her family had custom copper tubing cut into escort card holders which were so modern and fresh (and did double duty as a picture holder), and we also had custom copper lights made in Taos that hung over the dance floor. Moroccan print linens, gold chameleon chairs, rose gold flatware, and gorgeous gold candelabras with blush and ivory florals looked absolutely stunning. Blush and Amber lighting and pin spotting throughout the tent gave it the perfect glow at night!
The ceremony had a gorgeous mountain back drop, and as a nod to Grant’s Jewish heritage, a wood, fabric and floral adorned huppah framed the backdrop for their outdoor ceremony. Because Liz had such a love for Broadway musicals, we hired an acapella group (a la “Pitch Perfect”) to sing during cocktail hour and the band (complete with break dancing moves) kept the guests dancing all night until the after party started. A fabulous custom cake, designed by us, was lovingly created by the Makery (one of our faves) and guests had a blast in the Photo Booth (which was a MUST for the bride!) When guests needed a break, they were able to lounge in the Southwest inspired comfy lounge vignettes.
