WE ARE BACK!!

posted by table6 in Uncategorized

Well happy new year to all our bloggers and visitors!  We are back and in full force planning more fabulous weddings, then ever!  We had an insane November with 5 weddings between the 2 of us, holidays, etc., it was insane!  But with a new year, in our world, comes new trends, fresh new color palettes and a whole lotta crazy ideas.  We were fortunate to attend the Special Events Trade Show that was hosted in Atlanta Georgia in January 2008.  We met so many new vendors, including linen companies, rental companies, and decor companies, that allows us to have the confidence we need in order to maintain our reputation of throwing most fabulous events in our areas!  With brand new ideas comes brand new situations and with more vendors under our belt, we can now tackle any task.  Stay tuned….

So, this may not be so much crazy as it is straying away from the norm…and totally changing the "chemistry" of a wedding. But, we got to thinking. Wouldnt it be cool and different to arrive to a wedding at the pre-determined time only to be met by servers with fun food fare and yummy cocktail libations. Get it - you have the cocktail party BEFORE the ceremony! This is GREAT for a couple that sees each other BEFORE the wedding.

While you are off photoging yourselves to death, your guests can be enjoying some nibbles and a champagne cocktail or three. Then, the ceremony starts a half hour or so after the "initial’ WELCOME cocktail party. Think how much more interesting your ceremony will seem after a few drinks…no late guests, no empty stomachs, no shakes (because you need a drink). Then, after the ceremony, you can take a few more photos, then have another 30 - 45 minutes to greet your guests and thank them for coming while they enjoy a few tunes and a glass of wine. Then off to DINNER and DANCING….It’s called "Let’s get this party started"….

We hope to try this sometime and see how it flows…we will let you know!

We havent had as much time this past few weeks to shop around for our new fave links, but we have run across a few that you might like!

Wedding Graffiti - this is the coolest stuff ever. When you get a chance, really look around on their website. They have some cool stuff! At one of our weddings this month, we ordered monogram letters to put on all the glasses for the bar - particularly the Champagne…how cool is that? Also, we ordered some "graffiti" for the wall that is going to have their wedding "tag line" of LIVE WELL, LAUGH OFTEN, LOVE MUCH….it is going to be on a blank wall with uplighting in the reception. Ever seen that before? Didn’t think so….But honestly, what will they think of next?

Another super cool company we ran across at a NACE event recently is called: ICE CATERS

They make everything you can imagine out of ice. We saw some cool "ice" buckets that chilled various Vodkas. They also have Ice "Balls" for fab drinks and can make the ice any color you want. What’s even cooler (no pun intended) they can ship it to you overnight…FROZEN!

We got to thinking for our NO BUDGET bride (we havent met her yet) it would be cool to do mini ice carvings for each person that holds shrimp cocktail. For a FL event, it could be a mini palm tree ice  carving holding Oysters on the Half Shell…for a CO wedding, it could be a mini cowboy boot ice sculpture holding your own shrimp cocktail. You could serve chilled soup in an ICE BOWL or even serve a Martini in an ICE GLASS shaped like a martini glass….SO COOL! Even cooler than the jello mold flowers that we recently heard about (sorry: but dont think we will be purchasing those any time soon)

Ice Caters Website

And lastly, even though the Sparkler thing has been around forever, we still LOVE IT! The "exit" photo it produces just can’t be matched by anything else….unless you can afford to take off in a Hot Air Balloon or something cool like that. We ran across a simple, but cute website called SPARKLE where you can buy our fave 3 foot sparklers for a GREAT price. We have bought them other places before but we like this girl…and her cute family!

A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of planning something other than a wedding. YEE - HAW. We LOVE weddings, but we are also up for the challenge of a good party, Mitzvah and other celebration. This particular event took place at the Phipps Mansion and was a launch party for a new Bridal Magazine in town - PREMIER BRIDE MAGAZINE. We were lucky enough to be chosen to plan the event and had a great turn out of about 200 wedding related vendors. Everyone involved donated their time and resources and we cant thank them enough!

The event was that of  a "PREMIER" featuring red carpet, paparazzi, and the whole shabang. A Rolls Royce and Bentley were parked at the entry way as you entered and walked the red carpet (provided by EXCURSIONS) and the paparazzi were all fabulous…snapping away. France Marron, from Frances Photography, Travis Broxton from Broxton Art, Charles Brinton from Brinton Studios, Katie Thurmes from Jenna Walker Photography, and James Christianson from James Christianson Photography. A truly STELLAR group. Some of the best photogs in Denver.

Their was a very popular Caramel Apple Martini Luge provided by DAZZLING ICE SCULPTURES, great music (band) provided by ALIVE ON ARRIVAL (AOA), DJ and Acousttical Guitarist provided by A MUSIC PLUS, Harpist from HAPR BY JANE, Magic and Illisionist - THE RICH MAGIC - and much much more.

The event featured the following Caterers - Phipps Catering, SODEXHO, GreensPoint, Fancy to Fantasy, Footers and Catering by Design. Each caterer came up with their own creative ideas for food station, buffet displays, passed hors d’oeuvres, etc….it was all amazing!

Some of our fave florists sponsored a table design and lay-out…and they were gorgeous. They were provided by THE PERFECT PETAL, BELLA FIORI, DELILAH’S OF DENVER, and T’DA (pronounced TAH-DAH!!! Get it) Anyway, they were all so different and unique in their own way and really reflected the great floral and design work we have in this town. Look in the photo albums for pictures. The invites and site maps were designed by Julie from JS Designs and their were fabulous prizes - especially the 3 day trip to the Ritz Carlton in Bachelor’s Gulch….We also had an espresso cart set up by ESPRESSO AFFAIR and fabulous desserts provided by ELEGANT BAKERY, ICED DREAMS, and THE MAKERY. Yum……….

It was a great success and a good chance to get all of our peers in one room "mansion" together to hob nob. Ooh - and models and fabulous dresses there girls! Check them out - provided by ANNA Be’…and the decor and lighting really set the stage - provided by INDIGO SKY and LMD PRODUCTIONS…..

Thanks to everyone who participated. Look in the Photo Album for pictures.

"Another TABLE 6 PRODUCTIONS smashing success"….(at least that is what our vendors always tell us at the end)

The wedding of Kimberly Gray and Joshua Mangum was a true FLORIDA style event. It was held at the Davis Island Garden Club and the venue was transformed into a chic, stylish South Beach style lounge setting with touches of Tommy Bahama and Martha Stewart. Think Lime Green, Aqua and lots of White. Very South Beach! Fluffy Pillows, Overstuffed Seating Areas and White Chiffon Drape lined the outdoor terrace with lots of uplighting used throughout to create a very comfy setting.

The Bride and Groom got married on the water in front of a gazebo adorned with hydrangeas, curly willow, and Oprah roses. Hydrangea Pomanders lined the all white chair aisle and festive parasols were scattered throughout. The food incorporated both the Bride and Groom’s backgrounds (Florida and North Carolina) Think: Mini Mac and Cheese and Large Gulf Shrimp. Blue and Green margaritas were passed to the guests as they exited the ceremony. Josh’s grandmother also made sure that her North Carolina Sweet Tea was offered to all the guests….and they loved it as they washed down southern style chicken fingers with various dipping sauces.

Look for fab photos in our photo album for this event and vendor notables as everyone was fabulous as usual. Particularly one of our fave photogs from Denver, Travis Broxton, who flew from CO to FL to shoot the event with his buddy, Phillip Lloyd, from Tampa, FL…another one of our faves!

We know…we are lame. We havent updated our blog in a month! SORRY! One of our photographers had to get on our case about it. So, here we are. Be prepared for LOTS of updates, since they have been building for a month now. We promise to stay on top of it from here on out. But we have been VERY busy.

First, we would like to feature a few recent weddings we had (see: told you we have been busy). This one was shot by the FABULOUS Paige Eden Photography and Laura Hannah of Hannah Photography was the 2nd shooter on this one. We felt extremely lucky to have TWO AMAZING photographers at this event. They made quite the team! Always a joy to work with…and the photos are to die for!

The wedding of Susie Axelrad and Todd Giery on October 27th, 2007 was held at the CABLE CENTER. An amazing venue to work with. (We always love a blank canvas) It was a fabulous FALL event with a theme of dark red, burnt orange, gold and chocolate brown. And PUMPKINS galore. All the bride ever wanted was a lot of PUMPKINS…and FALL LEAVES and that is exactly what she got.

It was a very elegant, sophisticated and RICH. We had 3 feastings table - one for bride’s family, one for Groom’s family and one for the Bride and Groom and all of their friends. Then we used large rounds seating 12 people for the rest of the event. Linens were in rich colors and textures - ribbon taffetas, crinkle taffetas, and lush satin fabrics. Gold Chivari Chairs, Gold Satin Chair Pads, and Beautiful Gold Chargers graces the tables with delicately folded napkins stuffed with gorgeous menu cards tied in Pistachio satin. Pistachio and Aqua uplighting with an overall tone of AMBER lit the space beautifully and fall leaves were projected onto the ceiling as well as falling down 60 video towers all night. Gorgeous Bronze/Gold trees were lit up with votives and spread throughout the facility as well as pumpkins, leaves and gourds, OH MY! Place cards were fall leaves hanging from red, gold, and orange trees.

The ceremony was held in a theater under a HUPPAH made of Live Aspen Trees and Candles. It was gorgeous. Their was no center aisle, so choregraphing everything was a challenge, but always a learning experience as we love to experience different spaces and situations. We want to be ready for everything that comes our way!

The food stations were all inspired by the FALL season and the Dessert buffet featured mini pumpkin and pecan pies as well as cobblers and donuts with shots of milk. They also had a cake AND an intense candy buffet. The guests danced till the very end, probably because of the intense sugar high they were all on…or maybe it was the Caramel Apple Martinis?

Thank you to all of the AMAZING vendors that helped pull this somewhat challenging event together. It was stunning! Look for photos in the photo album. And vendors will be featured on our fave vendors section.

Also, look for this wedding to be featured in a magazine. It was THAT great! Stay tuned for which one will grace the newstands.

We have another wedding that we havent spoken about yet. It was in August and was the one of the most beautiful settings we have seen yet. We hadnt gotten our dirty little fingers on the photos until last week which is why we are a little behind on this one.

Heather Husband (great name huh) and her new hubby Adam were such an amazing couple. Not only were they fun and SUPER nice but a very spiritual couple as well! The ceremony was held behind a beautiful home on Bow Mar Lake facing West and the Reception was next door behind another gorgeous home on the lake under a very large white tent. We had lots of white twinkle lights, fabric draping and lanterns over the dance floor that lit the evening up as the sun went down.

The entire wedding was somewhat of a clean, crisp boat/water theme as this couple met at Semester at Sea. All the tables were named after islands they visited. Their table was named after the boat they met on - The American Princess. The colors were clean and simple - Periwinkle, White and Black. The place cards were displayed in front a large ship resembling the ship they met on and sat in beds of sand. The specialty drink was blue, resembling "water" and was called an Eternitini. The band was a blast and the guests loved the S’More bar roasting by the fire pit as well as the heart shaped pretzels flown in from Philly, where the couple lives, and served as a late night "Philly Treat".

The crowd was having such a great time that we didnt want to stop them so we ditched the fireworks show. But were able to light up the night with some sparklers as the couple took off in the "Just Married" house boat for some photo ops.

Epicurean did a beautiful job on the food and Jenna Walker of Jenna Walker Photography got some outstanding photos (as usual) Jenna Walker Photography Website

Wow! What a wedding this weekend…September definitely went out with a bang! We had 5 weddings to get through this month but we definitely saved the best for last. This tops the list as one of our new favorites. Not to mention, we LOVED the Bride & Groom…and their families. This was metallics at its BEST!

Kara and Matt’s ceremony and reception were held at the Westin Hotel Downtown Denver. The ballroom was transformed into a beautiful, rich ceremony set-up with bronze lamour chairs, red velvet curtains, amber lighting and a gorgeous pergola stype structure that was custom made for the event using large chocolate marble columns, ivory draped staging and stairs, and a glass ceiling featuring hundreds of petals and votives. It was absolutely stunning.

The flowers that lined the aisle were dripping in roses and staged onto Ivory draped columns. The arrangements lit up from the bottom and added additional light. The perimeter of the room featured 4 large bronze colored trees with real branches and hanging candle votives.

The room was then quickly transformed into the reception area. The pergola used for the ceremony now set the stage for the cake and a large 32 foot riser hosted the large bronze, spice and dark red feasting table seating 21 of the Bride & Groom’s closest friends. We played with a lot of different colors and textures at this wedding which just made it even more stunning! Bronze, Copper, and Gold tones with touches of Red…Delish!

The copper monogram that was designed by the Bride’s friend was carried throughout from the invites to the custom gobo light on the dance floor to the ice sculpture hosting the shrimp, oysters and mussels. The dance floor was packed the entire night and everyone really enjoyed the confetti poppers that were provided to send the bride and groom off to their honeymoon suite. We are pretty sure the hotel wasnt super excited about that part of the event though! What a mess!

See photo album for some pics we took. Ours dont do it justice…so stand by for the professional photos which will be provided soon by Melissa Rich with Lotus Photography - Lotus Photography Website

Guess what - our heads are spinning right now…as in Beetlejuice. So, this week, we dont have a crazy idea because we dont have enough time to think of one. But, don’t worry, their will be plenty more…as soon as we can make some space in our brains for a few. How lame…I know!
