What’s Hot - Month of June
posted by table6 in UncategorizedJune is finally here and the season is starting to heat up! June is one of the most popular months to get married - followed by May, August and September. And each month has an old wives tail attached to it depending on which one you choose. Juno was the Roman goddess of marriage. For this reason, many Romans chose to honor her by tying the knot in June. Like a lot of traditions, this one stuck…and could be the reason girls still choose June. That and the fact the weather is usually gorgeous!
Anyway, trends we are noticing this month:
*Organic Catering on the Rise
*Gourmet Coffee/Liquer Bars being offered with dessert
*"The Rose Ceremony" in place of Unity Candle or Sand (*you will have to hire us to learn this one..we don’t give ALL our secrets away on this blog) And it has nothing to do with the Bachelor!!!
*Brides/Groom’s seeing each other before the wedding - about 75% of our couples do this!
*Serving "pre-ceremony" cocktails: Peach Bellinis, Strawberry Fizz, and Rose’
*Pink Chamagne for the toast - so beautiful in the glass
*Candles, Candles, Everywhere! Especially the great new hanging, glass lanterns. They look marvelous on hanging in trees - indoor or out
*The Bridal Party dance and the Parents Dance - how many more dances do we need?
*Lounge Areas being set up at receptions with comfy couches, low lighting, and cozy pillows. This goes well with the very popular "After-Party" that couples are hosting after the wedding is over.
*The "Roaming" cocktail party: Think not only interactive stations but various rooms. One for cocktail hour, another for grazing, and another for dessert/dancing with various musical ensembles in each
*The "Post-Wedding" snack served to guests on there way out: Hot Popcorn, Fresh Baked Doughnuts, or PINK Cotton Candy - YUM!
*Decor, Decor - we love Decor! Up-Lighting, Low-Lighting, Gobo-Lighting, Intelligent Lighting, Spot Lighting, Pin Lighting, Fabric Draping, and Ceiling Swags.
*Floral centerpieces are taking a new turn - instead of sitting on the table, why not just hang them from the ceiling so they "hang" over each table.
*Less China, Flatware and Plating - frankly - we are happy about this one. Seeing bread plates, dinner plates, 5 glasses, 10 utensils, napkins, chargers, etc etc is getting a little much! Minimalist is in! Set up a coffee station - serve champagne from the bar, and who needs bread/butter? Aren’t we all saving room for dessert?
*Champagne Fountains, Sangria Fountains, just about anything with liquor from a fountain EXCEPT Chocolate. These are out girls!
Stay Tuned for updates throughout the month!
